Summary and Background:
Currently, IMC is one of the largest non-governmental health organizations assisting the Lebanese public institutions and civil society organization to provide mental health and psychosocial services to refugees and the local host population through integration of mental health into primary health care.
IMC is seeking to recruit a senior MHPSS officer for the south area to supervise and provide support to field teams in the North area and provision of MHPSS services and organization of program activities.
The senior officer in south will report directly to the MHPSS manager in North regions and coordinate closely on all relevant tasks.

Functions and responsibilities
Program
- Follow up on the work of case management team and the adequate delivery of MHPSS services in the area.
- Develop partnerships with local stakeholders necessary for the implementation of the IMC MHPSS programs.
- Attend coordination meetings and represent IMC whenever it’s required.
- Ensure that MH case management services in the area run according to protocol, program development and project indicators.
- Make sure that all necessary forms and questionnaires such as the social assessment forms, care-plans among others are filled and kept updated.
- Ensure coordination with other IMC departments.
- Provide input on program development and recommendations, as required.
- Ensure programming is on track in absence of direct supervisor; reporting daily on important issues that require supervisor feedback and decision making.
- Conducting interviews with service users (Displaced Syrians and host population) and their families to assess and review their situation;
- Liaising with, and making referrals of specific cases to IMC or other stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for proper information flow and legal action;
- Participating in training, supervision and team meetings, and be main mental health focal point for IMC in the south and representing IMC in coordination meetings.
- Coordinate with MH pharmacist on management of psychotropic medications and monitoring of consumption reports
Reporting
- Keeps track of patient numbers/cases through IMC outpatient records, to be submitted at the end of every month.
- Data collection, collation and analysis.
- Submit minutes of meetings that take place in the North area.
- Program documentation, data collection, analysis, final outcomes report for donor reports.
- Documentation of all activities and outcomes. Submit regular reports to MHPSS manager North.
- Office documentation and other duties as required by MHPSS Coordinator or MHPSS manager North.
- The mental health Senior Officer- South will report directly to the MHPSS manager North.
Minimum Qualifications
- Social Work or Psychology Degree or equivalent
- Trained in Mental Health
- Fluent in spoken Arabic and English
- Previous NGO experience is a plus
- Familiar with the IASC MHPSS guidelines in emergency settings.
- Personal interest in Gender Based Violence, women’s rights, educational and mental health issues.
- Willing to adhere to field schedule
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in working closely with community members throughout a program cycle
- Experience in or understanding of program accountability principles
- Knowledge of, respect and empathy for the communities we are working with
- Commitment to championing community and partner points of view
- Strong understanding of the project cycle and of M&E systems
- Good interpersonal and influencing skills
- Non-discriminatory and readiness to involve men, women, girls and boys from diverse backgrounds, particularly the most marginalized segments of the community
- Very good listening and facilitation skills – capable of managing and facilitating group discussions with program participants, local officials, partners and all levels of staff
- Ability to mobilize people – to develop and maintain relationships with staff and communities to ensure their participation in International Medical Corps ways of working
