Hygiene Agent

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Main purpose:

Carrying out cleaning activities in the hospital according to Lebanese and MSF standards and procedures in order to ensure hygiene and disinfection of materials and surfaces.

Accountabilities:

• Performing tasks related to hygiene and disinfection according to the protocols.
• Maintaining clean and disinfected, the infrastructure allocated to his/her position including patients rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, nursing stations, changing rooms, hand rails, consultation rooms, laboratory, medical imaging, operating theatre, emergency room, waiting rooms, staff rooms, storage rooms, waste collection room and offices according to protocols and schedule
• Cleaning floor, walls, ceiling, windows, doors, furniture and some medical equipment according to protocols and schedule
• Collecting and evacuating waste to the designated site
• Collecting and evacuating dirty linen to the designated site
• Keeping utility rooms in clean and organized condition
• Stocking cleaning trolleys in a clean and organized condition with chemicals bottles not in use locked inside the trolleys
• Washing all reusable mops for further use
• Raising awareness on hygiene and sanitation measures amongst patients, visitors and staff
• Ensuring that all hand washing facilities are well equipped with soap and paper towels
• Ensuring proper use, storage and maintenance of the equipment and tools provided.
• Ensuring availability, proper use and storage of cleaning and disinfecting products.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                              

Education

• Literacy is essential

Experience

• None is required, previous experience in the hospital service is preferable

Languages          

• Arabic fluency is mandatory. English is desirable
