Communication Advisor - part time 3 days per week

Main Activities:

 

1/ Definition and facilitation of MDM Lebanon communication plan;

  • Update and precise 2019 and 2020 communication action plan in regards to the operational and advocacy strategy of the mission;
  • Lead the organization of communication events, and support the programs teams in the implementation of communication activities
  • Identify communication opportunities (birthdays, international days, opening/closing of projects...), propose and put in place communication actions
  • To ensure the compliance of the mission towards donors communication guidelines and requirements

2/ Design and production of communication tools ;

  • Support the programs teams to define messages and design communication tools consistent with the programs purpose and content;
  • Creation of communication tools contributing to reinforce MdM visibility in Lebanon
  • Writing of articles for the MdM communication media.
  • Collection of testimonies from the beneficiaries for the program.
  • Organization of videos, audio and photos reports, in connection with HQ communication department when relevant

3/ Media contacts and relations in Lebanon development and press releases outcomes monitoring

  • Regularly update the media contact list for Lebanon
  • Meet journalists, develop the network, maintain contacts with journalists.
  • Monitor local and regional media of Arabic, English or French language looking for articles on the organization.
  • In cooperation with the Advocacy coordinator, writing of communiqués and press kits
  • Organize and lead media visits when needed, with cooperation with programs teams and under the supervision of the general coordinator.

4/ Web and digital communication development

  • Contribute to the updating of MdM Middle East and MDM websites, following validation procedures.
  • Definition and implementation of a strategy for the social networks in Lebanon

 

 

Requested Competence/Skills/Profile

 

  • Master degree in communication/journalism/filmmaking.
  • Experience in communication/journalism/filmmaking.
  • Arabic and English language are mandatory. French is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the following software and programs:
  • Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint – medium
  • PAO: Photoshop, Indesign – Medium
  • Web: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Mailchimp, Wordpress, google analytics, twitter counter – medium to high proficiency
  • Video: Final cut – high proficiency
  • Good common sense and a view for the “global picture”.
  • High capacity of taking over the perspective of others.
  • Experience working with NGO is preferred.
  • Good coordination and communication skills are a key factor to this position.
  • Strong ability to observe, analyze, report and take initiative.
  • Ability to work with a team and as well to work independent.
  • Clear commitment in the project thematic.
  • Ability to self-reflect your work, to recognize what needs improvement and to propose solutions.
