Roles and Responsibilities:
General duties and responsibilities:
- Work directly with other caseworkers and service providers on management of caseload and referral
- Act at all times according to guiding principles of Child Protection case management including:
- Do not harm
- Act according to the best interests of the child/survivor
- Approach a centered survivor
- Ensure confidentiality
- Prioritize according to safety concerns
- Practice anti-discrimination
- Ensure accountability
- Respect professional boundaries and avoid conflicts of interest
- Provide guidance to Child Protection Case Managers to complete all steps of Child Protection Case Management including comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and overall evaluation of individual children’s needs Review case worker files accordingly
- Provide orientation and initial training to new Case Managers.
- Conduct continuous capacity building for the case workers
- Ensure the preparation with case worker of accurate case plans for high and medium risk cases identified with clear outcomes and time-frames
- Cover caseloads when necessary
- Ensure that all high risk cases are immediately reported to the direct line manager
- Put instead plan with the staff on their external activities including home visits and PSS, awareness and OV activities
- Advocate with different institutions and service providers in collaboration with the Supervisor in the area of intervention to support case workers to access needed resources and services, and ensure good coordination for prompt referral, follow up and share information
- Monitor that files of social workers are filled properly and provide support in case of missing data
- Make sure that the social worker is giving cash based on protection incident
- Support the supervisor in weekly caseworker’s allocation and planning meetings
- Ensure that data protection protocols are respected
- Ensure activities run in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs
- Participate in meetings and training inside and outside the center including case management meetings, case conference meetings or any other meetings when required
- Communicate regularly with the supervisor for updates on achievements and challenges
- Participate actively in weekly case management team meeting;
- Maintain up to date documentation of case management files
- Responsible for the completion of numerous required monthly reports and ancillary reports as assigned
Psychosocial activities:
- Participate and collaborate in recreational, psychosocial, awareness activities conducted inside or outside of the center
- Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside of the center
- Conduct parenting skills sessions to the caregivers of street working children
- Coordinate with the senior PSS regarding activities to be conducted for SaWC
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Provide daily and weekly updates to the Social Work supervisor about cases assessed and supported
- Support the supervisor in the production of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
- Contribute to the update of the Makhzoumi Foundation case management system, UNHCR RAIS and maintaining high quality, accurate and confidential case files
- Support the supervisor in the monthly and quarterly newsletter
Other:
- Promptly report concerns or incidents to MF management and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for MF programs
- Engage with the coaching and training support provided to MF
- In collaboration with the supervisor provide support and mentor less experienced case workers
- Ensure that the activities run in a timely manner to ensure the successful implementation of programs
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop MF programs
