Mapping Services / Data Collector

Save the Children International’s (SCI) Innovation program in Lebanon aims to increase the knowledge and skills of parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, and increase the access to specialist services to enable them to care for their children and support their development.
In a quest to implement the above stated project objective, SCI is planning to develop an online application, called ENABLE, targeted mainly at parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, healthcare professionals and adolescents with disabilities.

By reaching service providers across the country, the app will provide an effective search platform for people to identify services in their community and across Lebanon, and access an online library of up-to-date information and advice.

Relevant events will also be publicised in order to link families with resources and have the opportunity to meet with peers in their community.
Parents and caregivers will receive the knowledge and guidance they need to support their children’s development and to help their children access their rights. They will also receive psychosocial support through networks and forums with peers to help them overcome the challenges related to parenting children with disabilities, while children using the app will be empowered through increased independence and decision-making, and supported through engaging with peers facing similar mental or physical challenges.

The app will also serve as an important data-collection tool in Lebanon, “With full compliance of data protection and privacy”, where up-to-date information on the population demographics is currently limited. Providing users agree, their data will be collected to help identify service gaps and needs across the country to inform future programming.

The main task of a Mapping Services / Data Collector will be to collect data information about potential service providers that would be interested in registering in ENABLE App. This process will start by reaching to service providers, explaining the App objectives and goals and getting their consent to register in the App once it’s launched.
