National Psychosocial Officer PSS

  1. Core Functions / Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and timely monitor the overall implementation of the Program including all operational, financial and administrative aspects, including but not limited to the supervision of Program staff and budget monitoring.
  • Coordinate all actions (preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation) related to the capacity building activities, such as: development of training syllabi; identification and mobilisation of trainers and trainees; collection, translation and editing of training material; management of all related logistics and procurement; establishment of an evaluation system; etc.
  • Assist the establishment of recreational and counselling centre for families in North Lebanon including: a) liaise and coordinate closely with national authorities at the central and regional level; b) participate in the assessment of location; c) assist in coordination of rehabilitation works; d) participate in the development of MOUs with partners; e) participate in the recruitment and  training of the staff; f) draft an activity workplan; f) develop reporting mechanisms.
  • Provide technical guidance for the effective implementation of PSS activities in IOM Centres in Beqaa and in the South as well as of outreach activities implemented by IOM field staff.
  • Assess qualitative and quantitative shortcomings in the implementation of the activities and identify needs in terms of capacities (e.g. training) and resources in order improve the quality of the deliverables.
  • Organize conferences, events, ceremonies, partners meetings, etc.
  • Maintain relationships and continuing exchange of information with national and international counterparts and partners, academic, governmental and non-governmental relevant to the Program and the mission’s activities as a whole.
  • Support the established national and international coordination mechanisms in the MHPSS domain and other related domains (Protection, Livelihoods, Education, etc.) and represent IOM within those mechanisms.
  • Provide technical support for the development of information materials and ensure communication and visibility for IOM, the Program and the donors;
  • Provide relevant inputs to the PSS Program Manager for the development/update of a strategy, as well as assess needs and assist project development on the field of MHPSS, displacement and migration in Lebanon.
  • In accordance with structured reporting requirements and informal reporting needs, ensure monthly reporting of all MHPSS activities, identify programmatic shortcoming and areas of expansion.
  • Assist the coordination with other IOM Emergency programs and assist in designing MHPSS activities that can create synergies with and complement their humanitarian and stabilization goals.
  • Support the maintenance of a sound project documentation (hard and electronic copy), including the preparation of Arabic and English translations of all relevant documents regarding implementation, monitoring and coordination activities.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
