The duties and responsibilities of a mine risk education (RE) specialist are as follows:
- Develop RE training package and plan to be delivered to Humanitarian Workers (partner’s staff)
- Develop and evaluate MRE monitoring tools
- Provide – directly or indirectly – technical advice and support on the issue of risk education to key stakeholders in the region
- Contribute to the security context assessment and needs of staff.
- Develop plans and guidelines for the RE activities
- Monitor and evaluate risk education activities conducted by implementing partner
- Provide relevant inputs for donor reports
- Support partner’s staff in conducting a mapping of existing RE activities and materials
- Collect data from partner’s staff for documenting indicators
- Take part of the coordination meetings when necessary and needed.
- Assist with project proposals and new initiatives related to MRE
