Mine Risk Education Coach (MRE Coach)

Job Description

  • Increase awareness, knowledge and management of the risks posed by mines, ERW and IEDs and safe behavior promoted resulting in positive changes in attitudes and practices of affected communities in targeted areas.
  • Maintain positive relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and local stakeholders through coordination
  • Attend training of HI and LOST team on Risk Education at RSHDL school + LMAC Staff Clearance
  • Attend complimentary training for HI, LOST, and NSCRE on tailored Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials suitable to the local context and at-risk groups
  • Assess Pre - Impact to measure the knowledge, the attitudes, the practices and the beliefs (KAPB)
  • Outreach target beneficiaries
  • Provide MRE Sessions to target groups, including Pre and Post sessions test to measure the knowledge improvement
  • Report potential problems or conflicts during the implementation of the activities.
  • Regular reporting to the Heads of Project and assistant.
  • Be committed to participate in any other activities in order to achieve the project goals.
  • Distribute IEC materials including booklets and leaflets to target communities.

 

Experience 

  • At least 2 years of experience in field
  • Experience in team supervision and team management skills.
  • Experience in providing awareness sessions and social mobilization 
  • Experience and ability to work with vulnerable people
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Word-processing, spreadsheet and database software programs related to job functions.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in a major related to social work or any other related field
