SEED is a non-profit nongovernmental organization working in Tripoli to support the education sector since 2016.
Since SEED together with People in Need Slovakia are implementing a project financially supported by SlovakAid under the tittle: ‘Education as a pathway to better living conditions for vulnerable children and youth from Lebanese and refugee communities in Tripoli’.
We are looking for a child protection consultant sepcialist.
Work description:
- Evaluates the needs of project’s team capacity building and proposes necessary procedures for promoting the principles of child protection, psychosocial support, child safety, referral of children to specialized institutions and care for specific cases
- Helps to create training content for education staff of project team addressing the capacity building needs of the education centre in Tripoli
- Supervises evaluations provided by the trainer for teachers in relation to child protection and educational methods after attending the trainings
- Develop recommendations on methodology and practices used to refer and promote the principles of child protection in daily teaching practice and psychosocial activities
- Contribute to the development of an ethical codex including the applied principles of protection, safety and children's rights in practice
Required level of education, qualifications and skills:
- Graduate of higher education (e.g. master) from Child Protection or other relevant degree
- At least 3 years of practice as an expert on child protection for organizations or state/international institutions including experience with preparation and implementation of module trainings from child protection and care for specific cases
- Proven experience in promoting child protection principles in crisis context
- Proven experience in evaluating capacity building needs and activities of organizations/ institutions
- Completed certified trainings in area of child protection or psychosocial support
- Fluency in Arabic and English language
- Experience in working with vulnerable children and communities
- Knowledge of informal education sector in Lebanon
- Being able to adapt to cultural context and follow the vision, values and principles of SEED and People in Need Slovakia
