1.  Project Background

The Lebanon Community Support Program (CSP) is a multi-year project funded by USAID to support municipalities and underserved and vulnerable communities in providing better services and enhanced economic opportunities to improve lives and reduce tensions that contribute to conflict and violence, primarily in Lebanon’s North, South, and Beqaa regions. Under Task Order No. 3 (TO 3), the project will provide technical assistance to municipalities, civil society organizations (CSOs), the private sector, or other entities to increase capacity and ensure sustainable impact in providing key essential services. The main objective of this 5-year task order is to support Component 3 (Capacity Building) of the CSP Program by delivering technical assistance to enhance the sustainability of CSP interventions under Component 1 (Community Stabilization Support) and Component  2 (Community Development Support), and if required, under future Task Orders.

 

2.  Summary of Position

Reporting to the CSO Capacity Building Manager, the coordinator will manage logistics and provide administrative support for all training, meetings, and other capacity building. The coordinator will work closely with capacity building officers (CBOs) and service providers to facilitate smooth delivery of training and support the capacity building team by coordinating and scheduling training workshops and field visits and coordinating venue, catering, and transportation. In addition, the coordinator will serve as CSP’s main focal point with AUB and LAU regarding collaboration with students from USAID’s University Scholarship Program

 

2.  Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support all logistical preparations of Task Order 3 trainings, workshops, conferences, working groups, and project events, such as arranging venues and catering services;
  • Monitor the delivery of all training activities to ensure that all training needs are met and troubleshoot issues as they arise;
  • Ensure necessary printed materials and stationery available for each training (in accordance with Chemonics procurement requirements), and ensure digital and visual equipment is set-up and running smoothly during trainings;
  • Conduct market research to ensure accurate training budget and work with procurement department to obtain quotations for necessary services, such as venues and catering; 
  • Prepare the request for funds for training expenses as per the approved budget for the training, including distributing per diem and travel stipends and booking lodging for participants and staff who are traveling for the project;
  • Ensure that all proper documentation for training-related payments is obtained and provided to the Task Order 1 Finance and Operations team for their review and action and then filed according to Chemonics’ best practices and file systems;
  • Assist with distribution of evaluations to participants after training and support analysis and recording of participants’ feedback;
  • Administer the application process for USP students from AUB and LAU who are interested in CSP internships, fellowships, or other forms of collaboration;
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the Capacity Building Managers and TO 3 Director.

 

4.  Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • At least five years of work experience in the relief and development sector in Lebanon on projects funded by international donors, with USAID-experience preferred;
  • Preferred experience in planning and events coordination with USAID or other donors;
  • Familiarity and experience working on projects with a capacity building component;
  • Preferred experience working with interns and/or university students;
  • Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow project staff members, visitors, and the general public;
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse sets of stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of USAID’s rules, regulation, and procurement practices preferred;  
  • Experience working across Lebanon, specifically in the North, South, and Bekaa regions preferred;
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English required.

4.  Location of the Assignment

The Training and Partnerships Coordinator will be based in CSP’s main office space in Beirut and will be expected to travel to CSP’s areas of operation throughout the country as needed.

 

5.  Reporting

The Training and Partnerships Coordinator will report to the CSO Capacity Building Manager, or equivalent.
