1. Project Background
The Lebanon Community Support Program (CSP) is a multi-year project funded by USAID to support municipalities and underserved and vulnerable communities in providing better services and enhanced economic opportunities to improve lives and reduce tensions that contribute to conflict and violence, primarily in Lebanon’s North, South, and Beqaa regions. Task Order 5 – Wastewater Management will support CSP IDIQ Components 2 and 3 (Community Development Support and Technical Assistance for Key Essential Services) by partnering with public water and wastewater utilities known as regional water establishments (RWEs), communities, and other key stakeholders to implement interventions that sustainably improve wastewater management.
2. Summary of Position
3. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Drives project vehicles daily as assigned and/or pre-approved by supervisor, including routing shuttle service runs, scheduled field trips, project-related transportation within Beirut and other cities, and other driving assignments as required;
- Cleans assigned vehicles daily both inside and outside;
- Checks assigned vehicles weekly to ensure that they are operational and safe to drive, including oil, radiator, fan belt, brake fluid, wipers, tires, lights, and signals;
- Initiates and supervise any repairs required on assigned vehicles with supervisor's approval;
- Initiates and supervise routine periodic maintenance of assigned project vehicles, including oil and filter changes, tune-ups, and professional cleaning by high-pressure hose based on the manufacturer's instructions on optimum maintenance requirements;
- Fulfills project reporting requirements and maintain records on vehicle routing, vehicle condition, etc.;
- Ensures passenger safety by obeying traffic laws and driving carefully;
- Expedites any project request necessary to facilitate the running of the office;
- Carries out certain procedures for clearing project commodities from customs;
- Handles passport-related matters for the short-term consultants upon their arrival in Lebanon;
- Assists with moving office furniture from one place to another;
- Assists with answering phones when needed;
- Other duties as assigned by office manager or equivalent;
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the office assistant or equivalent.
4. Qualifications
- A high School degree / Baccalaureate required;
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public driving within different regions in Lebanon;
- Minimum of 2 years working with NGOs;
- Driving experience for international donors and international organizations and knowledge of USAID’s rules and regulation for driving preferred;
- Experience working across Lebanon, specifically in the North, South, and Bekaa regions preferred;
- Basic spoken and written Arabic and English required.
5. Location of the Assignment
The Driver will be based in CSP’s main office space in Beirut and will be expected to travel to CSP’s areas of operation throughout the country as needed.
6. Reporting
The Driver will report to the office assistant, or equivalent.
