OBJECTIVE:
The Elderly Caregiver is responsible for assisting elderlies with personal care, medication, cleaning and companionship. He/She should be observant and committed to making the beneficiary feel safe and comfortable
DUTIES:
- Assist with personal care which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing and eating
- Follow a prescribed healthcare plan which may include assisting with exercise and administering medication
- Ensure that the client’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place.
- Assist with some light housework and cleaning chores
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks
- Provide mobility assistance such as helping the elderly in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair
- Monitor and report changes in health, behavior and needs
