GENERAL OBJECTIVE
With guidance and supervision from the Grant Manager, the Reporting Officer will be responsible for developing donors reports in Syria.
- Key responsibilities include:
- To ensure timely and high-quality Donors reporting to all Action Against Hunger -Syria projects in prescribed formats;
- To ensure and provide guidance on compliance with AAH and donor’s rules, regulations, and guidelines
- When necessary, to support the formulation of project-proposals under the supervision of the grant manager.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Objective 1: To prepare concise, coherent, and consistent operational reports to national and international donors in prescribed templates and in accordance to contracts’ requirements
- compile, consolidate, and analyze field level information on projects implementation and indicators for the formulation of concise and coherent narrative operational reports (progress – quarterly/biannual-, and final) to international donors, in accordance to the prescribed formats.
- In collaboration with the MEAL team, he/she will cross-check that the beneficiaries reported in each report are correct and reliable.
- With the inputs of the Finance and Logistics teams, he/she cross-check that information reported in the narrative report of each report match the information reported in the financial statement.
- ensure concision, coherence, clarity as well as grammatical and spelling accuracy of all projects-related documentation (Annexes, Baseline, etc.).
Objective 2: In coordination with the grant Manager, to support in tracking, monitoring, flagging reporting requirements and deadlines through management and continual updating of the reporting database
- To support in ensuring the matching between the signed reporting calendar (contracts) and the reporting database.
- To support preparing the reporting calendar tables for internal dissemination and establishment of internal deadlines (Mission, Donor Relation Units, and Head Quarter)
- support uploading and updating the database, after the submission of each report
Objective 3 When necessary, to support the formulation of project-proposals
PROFILE
Training:
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Humanitarian/development aid, international relations, political science, law, communications or related field.
Technical specific knowledge:
Effective Report Writing, Project Cycle Management, Data analysis, WASH basic concepts, FSL basic concepts, Nutrition/Health basic concepts. Knowledge of M&E and reporting mechanisms and strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills. International Donor’s regulations and financial knowledge a plus.
Experience of working in complex and volatile contexts and familiarity with the humanitarian context in Syria is an advantage
Previous experience (years):
At least 2 years as Reporting Officer or similar (i.e. Project Officer, Communication Officer)
Humanitarian sector knowledge:
Required, but not compulsory
Organization knowledge:
Valuable basic knowledge of AAH.
Languages:
English (excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills); Arabic (excellent speaking skills)
IT systems:
Excellent Computer skills and full ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, Power Point, Internet and e-mail skills
Mobility (national/ international)
Beirut/Damascus, with frequent travels to Damascus/Beirut, international
