School Nurse - Shatila

Main tasks:
- Promotes health awareness strategies; conducts periodic checkups for students
- Conducts annual medical checkups for all students
- Interprets to student's parents the medical reports issued and encourages them to seek the opinion of their family doctor
- Provides emergency health care to needy cases such as injuries, headaches, stomach-aches
- Ability to read vital signs of patient (fever, heartbeat, pulse, breath etc.…)
- Detecting communicable disease, and take necessary action
- Accompanies students to hospitals in case of emergencies
- Organize students’ medical records, in collaboration with the parents
- Develops a nursing care plan with special health needs requiring nursing assessment, intervention or supervision and communicate the appropriate health information to the principal
- Warns the concerned teachers about student having a special case
- Assists in the health education of students by acting as resources for staff, and actively teaching classes such as first aid
- Reviews and maintains health records
- Provides periodic reports to the School principal
- Attends meetings, workshops, and training sessions during and outside school hours
- Performs other duties of similar nature as requested by the School Principal
