Project Assistant (M&E)

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office and direct supervision of the Emergency Response and Stabilization Coordinator, and in coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation assistant the incumbent will assist in the following functions and responsibilities:

  • The design of monitoring and evaluation methods and tools for Emergency Response and Stabilization projects and activities (Livelihoods, Social Stability, Basic Humanitarian Assistance, Cash-based Interventions, Health, Shelter and WASH)
  • Gathering and compiling M&E related data
  • Conducting baseline, midterm and end line assessments and evaluations
  • Regular field monitoring trips to conduct household assessments and interviews, post-distribution monitoring surveys, focus group discussions, and project monitoring visits
  • Providing inputs to and assist in drafting M&E reports through preliminary compiling, cleaning and analyses of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Tracking the progress on achieving expected outcomes, outputs and activities as per project M&E implementation plan and outcome indicators
  • Updating and maintaining the M&E database
  • Data filing and archiving as per project requirements
  • Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned

a) Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Development, Political Science, Project Implementation and Management, Social Sciences or any other relevant field.
b) Minimum two years of relevant professional experience.
c) Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of Development and Humanitarian projects and programmes.
d) Knowledge of humanitarian work and the work of UN agencies in Lebanon is advantageous.
e) Good organizational, communication and presentation skills.
f) Proficient use of computer programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
g) Proficiency in writing, drafting reports and editing both in Arabic and English is required.
