- Background of the Organization
CARE is an international humanitarian and development organization without religious, political or government affiliation. CARE is committed to protecting and promoting the rights of vulnerable girls and boys, women and men and improving the lives of refugees and host communities alike.
CARE works at national, municipality and at the community level to develop customized solutions and ensure long-term sustainability as well as respond to basic needs. We design projects that fall into alignment with national priorities and be owned by communities. Our interventions range across clean water, affordable sanitation and community healthcare and sexual and reproductive health rights programs, economic opportunities, and protection. Across program areas, CARE’s activities are guided by a rights-based, holistic, gender-sensitive/transformative, and inclusive approach.

- Terms of Reference
CARE is seeking an Engineer Intern to assist the engineer consultant in his daily tasks and in the supervision of the ongoing activities.
The typical responsibilities of the engineer intern include:
- Conducting field visits to areas where rehabilitation activities are taking place.
- Follow up on daily basics works done by the contractors and suppliers.
- Report activities progress, pending technical issues on field to the engineer consultant.
- Assist in preparing bill of quantities, variation orders, site inspection and as-built documents.
- Assist in Preparing as-built drawings for the SDC’s.
- Assist in performing site inspection and handing over for all works done at the SDC’s
- Assist in the assessment of some community centers where rehabilitations are going to take place.
- Assist the project engineer in his daily tasks and responsibilities
- Performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering (civil, architecture,)
- Previous experience in finishing and interior design works in small scale projects.
- Previous volunteering experience in civil society organizations.
- Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office (excel, word, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in using AutoCAD software.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Familiarity with data collection and analysis
- Commitment, devotion, and integrity
- Solution-oriented.
