Early Child Education Teacher Assistant

    Background:

MS intervention in Jnah aims at enabling vulnerable children to access and retain in education by providing early child education, but also homework support, PSS (counseling and animation), family follow up, school follow up. Their parents are also targeted through awareness sessions on a regular basis. MS follows specific criteria to select beneficiaries through an individual screening process undertaken by MS social workers.

The new position of early child education teacher assistant in the teams has for objective to enhance the quality of the kindergarten classes for children enrolled in Jnah MS kindergarten to provide them with the best early education they deserve.

 

   Duties and responsibilities:

Under the management of the head of center, main tasks for the early education teacher assistant will be the following:

  • Support KG tutor in teaching basic academic skills, including alphabet, letter recognition, numbers, and others in French (reading and writing),
  • Support KG tutor in classroom activities and in out-of-class activities and playtime,
  • Take charge of a small group of children in class when needed,
  • Participation in the identification of student’s needs for relevant referral (psychologist, speech therapist, specialists…),
  • Report on children educational and behavioral progress,
  • Participate to meetings with caregivers of children enrolled in kindergarten,
  • Participate in all relevant meetings and trainings proposed by MS and partners

 

Conditions of Work

The early education teacher assistant will operate under the supervision of the head of center and in high coordination with the 2 kindergarten student and the social worker.

The early education teacher assistant will be based in MS Jnah center from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in early education or any relevant degree in the same field
  • At least one year of relevant work experience in early education,
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills,
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities,
  • Experience in working in a multidisciplinary environment,
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential.
  • Experience in planning class programs.
  • Experience in participatory programs.
  • Must be capable of teaching French and good level English languages and Arabic as mother language
