About ACTED:
ACTED in an international NGO that has been registered in Lebanon since 2006. It has an established country office in Beirut as well as a field office in Akkar. More recently, it has been carrying out activities in the South and in Tripoli.
ACTED works closely with local authorities and civil society stakeholders at the community level to implement priority humanitarian interventions such as emergency multi-purpose cash assistance, WASH projects (including disease monitoring and infrastructural and behavioral response), and Shelter interventions incorporating multiple modalities. ACTED is also implementing long-term development projects to rehabilitate infrastructure, improve agricultural production, increase livelihood opportunities and support state and non-state actors to improve service delivery and social stability through collective development planning.
Project: “Operationalizing Human Security in Tripoli for Women and Girls”
ACTED is implementing a project in Tripoli designed to build the resilience of conflict-affected, displaced and hosting vulnerable women and girls in Tripoli, Lebanon. The targeted beneficiaries will receive a package of trainings and awareness sessions that will empower them, and provide them with basic skills to be in a better position to seek, at the end of the project, improved livelihood opportunities.
Assignment
To this effect, ACTED is seeking a training provider to organize two 60-hours home based care trainings to four groups of between 12 and 13 women and girls.
Home Based Care can be defined as any form of assistance provided to a sick person at home or in elderly houses by family, friends and members of the local community, cooperating with the advice and support from the trained caregivers.
The Home Based Care trainers will be responsible for delivering a curriculum that covers the objectives of the training described below and to conduct 60 hours of theoretical and practical training in Tripoli for vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian beneficiaries with no or minimum experience in Home Based Care in order to provide them with the necessary techniques that will allow them to acquire a broad understanding of what a career in Home Based Care involves, and build their soft and technical skills to a level that will allow them to find employment as caregivers.
In addition to the above, the training provider will be also responsible to provide the trainees with the needed training materials to use during the course and to have access to Elderly Care Houses in Tripoli where trainees can apply the practical component of the course during an internship which will take place at the end of the training.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
The training provider will recruit two trainers to provide a total of 240 hours of training over the course of two months, between November 18th 2019 and January 24th 2020, to four groups of women and girls. The training provider is in charge of bringing any material needed for the sessions. The training will take place in four centers located in Beb el Tebbaneh, Al Kobbeh and Mina road.

3.2-Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
-Provide a curriculum that matches the Lebanese market context in Arabic[HC1]
-Develop an outline consisting of a lesson plan and timeline for each session
-Conduct 60 hours of theoretical and practical training in Tripoli based on the developed curriculum for each group.
-Provide 4 x 3hr training sessions per week (12hrs of training a week) to four groups of 12 to 13 beneficiaries based on a pre-defined schedule drafted by the Project Manager, in consultation with the trainers
-Develop, review and evaluate tests/assignments completed by beneficiaries
-Assist ACTED team in finding interested health care centres for internships opportunities
Required competencies:
The instructor is expected to have the following skills:
-At least 5 years of experience in working in Home and Health Care sector in Lebanon
-Previous experience in conducting trainings preferred
-Good knowledge of network of home based care service providers in Lebanon is an important asset
-Patience and positive attitude is highly requested
-Excellent classroom management skills
-Excellent English and Arabic skills, both written and oral
