Background
Socio-Economic Enhance and Development (SEED) is a non-profit, secular, and non-governmental organization based in Tripoli, North Lebanon.
The core value of SEED is to empower individuals and communities in order to create an independent and prosperous society. We give people a hand up, not a hand out. The way we do this is through projects offering education, equipping people with vocational skills, and providing information on matters such as health and legal. We encourage volunteering and delivery of services by the community, for the community.
The support of volunteers from around the world is imperative to achieving this vision, and as such we offer a diverse range of opportunities.
The role
We have a variety of roles and projects that you can get involved with, depending on your availability, experience and interests.
Upon SEED NEEDS:
- Project assistant
- Assistant Teachers
- Commuinciton and social media management
- Reporting and proposal Writing / Fund Raising
We are very flexible with our volunteers and are grateful for your time helping us and in turn helping the Tripoli community - so if you meet the minimum requirements below please get in touch!
Requirements:
We are looking for international volunteers who are/have:
- Self-motivated, passionate and fast-learners
- Strong communication, writing and inter-personal skills
- Fluency in the English language (knowledge of French/Arabic would be an additional asset)
- Able to work in an international environment with people of diverse backgrounds
- An understanding and awareness of vulnerability, poverty and conflict-affected situations
- A university degree, ideally in the field proposing to volunteer in
- 1 to 3 years of experience with non-profit organizations
- Able to join the team as soon as possible
Our offer
We pride ourselves on the lasting international connections our volunteer opportunities create, and truly value the experience each volunteer brings. Although this is an un-funded voluntary position, we offer accommodation in our SEED Guest House in Tripoli to accepted volunteers on the programme for the duration of your time with us. The Guest House is in close proximity to the SEED office and educational centres and to the heart of Tripoli and the activities it offers all visitors.
We are a small team and so your work and progress will be undertaken alongside SEED Senior Management, with an induction and regular check-ins to ensure you have the most learning and impact during your time with us.
