Local Gender Consultant

Key Tasks, Level of Effort and :

PMSPLII is seeking to recruit a local consultant for app 25-30 working days to do the following between December 2019 and March 2020.

• Design and Facilitate the 2019 PMSPL II one day Gender Workshop in March
• Form and coordinate a Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on gender in Governance; and
• Organize and hold a half day Flag Ship Event on Occasion of Int Women’s Week

The consultant will report to and coordinate with Senior Gender Specialist in undertaking the above tasks. 

Skills and Experience 

The required applicant must have:

• At least 10 years of solid experience in managing gender in governance projects , and working knowledge of gender sensitive USAID funded projects
• Previous experience in holding public events on gender in Governance;
• Professional knowledge specifically of gender dynamics in Lebanese politics and socio-economic situation in Lebanon.
• Postgraduate degree preferably in political science, law , social development or any other relevant field. 
• Computer literate with excellent IT skills
• Has flexibility, good time management, organizational, and coordination skills.
• Fluent Arabic and English language skills, including excellent public speaking as well as writing skills in both languages.   
• Thorough knowledge of gender discrepancies related to family and civil rights in the legal and legislative setups as well as gender gaps where the customary and legal laws in Lebanon are concerned.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior politicians;
