Responsibilities and Objectives:
1. Support and contribution to effective implementation of project objectives:
- Be responsible for the implementation, management and support of the IYCF activity
- Conduct regular supervision in the centers’ sites to support staff with on the job training and ensuring quality of service delivery.
- Provide training for local staff in line with the appropriate national and international guidelines.
- Implement participatory Behavior Change Communication methods in nutrition project.
- Support integration of nutrition services with available health, WASH, psychosocial (PSS) interventions.
- Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability.
2. Organizational and Management Responsibilities:
- Work with the Project Manager and the Project Support Manager to manage finances within the project and payment of salaries.
- Coordinate and oversee petty cash requirements, ensuring required paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Line manage and oversee the nutrition staff including, day-to-day management, development and training, performance management, etc.
- Ensure the assigned nutrition team members receive relevant and appropriate supervision, mentoring and training in order to develop their personal and professional skills, knowledge and understanding.
- Represent Dorcas at a relevant local level coodrdination meetings involving local authorities, UN agencies and other NGOs.
3. Internal and external reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities for internal and external requirements.
- Contribute in reporting to the donors

Qualifications/ Requirements:
Professional competencies required
- Diploma or Bachelor degree in nutrition
- High communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
- Fluency in Arabic – written and spoken
- Previous experience in IYCF programs
- Previous experience in coordination and management
- Experience working for an NGO preferred
Personal competencies required
- Good level of reporting skills
- Good knowledge of computers
- Ability to listen actively, understand, communicate effectively and discuss with supervisors and parents on children’s learning problems and psychosocial requirements.
- Flexibility, ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural people
- Able to cope and work in considerably stressful environment
- Good time management and task management skills
- Able to work independently and with autonomy, while following objectives and instructions
- High level of diplomacy, cultural sensitivity and security awareness
- Desire to develop his/her expertise and knowledge.
