Psychosocial Worker

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with teachers and Education Coordinator to organize psychosocial activities for beneficiaries in education activities

  • Encourage and stimulate full participation of the planned socio/recreational activities

  • Develop and complete relevant assessment forms

  • Provide one-on-one and group counseling for children and parents as needed

  • Identify children with further psychosocial needs and make recommendations for the provision of psychosocial activities

  • Identify children in need of referral for case management

  • Ensure, promote and facilitate that the principles of child protection and child participation are integrated into all project activities and communication with students

  • Ensure strict adherence to ADRA Lebanon Child Protection Policies at all times, including respect for confidentiality and child centered approach, acting in the best interests of the child

  • Attend relevant meetings and Working Group meetings

  • Conduct home visits in targeted communities for assessments

  • Organize outings for beneficiaries

  • Conduct PSS sessions

  • Train all staff on how to set up a child-friendly space for students

  • Write weekly and monthly reports

  • Networking with other NGOs to help our beneficiaries to get the services they need.

  • Must be able to travel around Bekaa

​​​​​​​Qualifications:

Required:

  • At least two years’ experience working with children and organizing  psychosocial activities
  • At least one year experience working with children with disabilities
  • Ability to work with children with light disabilities
  • Ability to engage with children in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect
  • Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be, able to coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Strong diplomatic skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, listening and communication skills
  • Good written and oral English skills
