The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for community engagement in the assigned area through mobilization, awareness, and community outreach activities as well as being responsible for assisting with psychosocial activities for Syrian refugee and Lebanese children in Beqaa.
Responsibilities:
Organize outreach activities informing the local community about project activities whilst identifying potential school beneficiaries
Conduct Home visit to targeted community households
Follow-up with a student in case of absence from education centers
Identify new beneficiaries in case of dropout of other students
Organize joint community activities for the host communities and in informal settlements
Encourage and stimulate full participation at the planned recreational activities with special attention, where possible and appropriate, marginalized and overlooked groups in the community
Disseminate information at the community level about the purpose and importance of psychosocial activities
Assist the project target community in obtaining information and knowledge of and access to available relevant services through outreach activities
Organize localized coordination meetings with other agencies operating in the same area for information sharing.
Provide reports of activities to Project Manager on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
Must be able to regularly travel around Beqaa in local communities and informal settlements
Qualifications:
Required:
- At least one year experience working or volunteering in direct contact with community members
- Ability to engage with community members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect
- Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong diplomatic skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, listening and communication skills
- Good written and oral English skills.
