Health and Nutrition Associate (Re-advertised)

Description of Tasks:

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of national Health and Nutrition Officer, the Health and Nutrition Associate will:
•  Provide technical support in quality assurance activities of programmatic implementation (HACT monitoring, partners’ capacity building…);
•  Support in data management for evidence-based programming such as timely data reporting on Activity Info and other required reports;
•  Provide support to Health and Nutrition program officers in the development, implementation and monitoring of program documents;
•  Support Health and Nutrition Programme Officers in development of fund-raising documents, internal reporting, human interest stories and donor reports;
•  Contribute to the ongoing portfolio of innovation and implementation research in relation to the core components of UNICEF’s child survival and development agenda;
•  Contribute and engage in regular internal and external meetings with the Health and Nutrition Team, including forums with government and partners;
•  Support modelling of new integrated innovative interventions to address child wellbeing in Lebanon and across nationality;
•  Support when needed in actively participating in the field Health and Nutrition working groups;
•  Participate in the Annual work planning, mid-year review and end of year review of the Health and Nutrition program;
•  Participate in the development of innovations in data gathering and feedback in order to enhance the use of data and evidence for action, with a focus on vulnerable groups and communities;
•  Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor;
 

a)  Qualifications, skills, experience, areas of expertise:
•  At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in health, nutrition and data management, or other relevant programmes, experience working in the UN or other international development organization;
•  Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
•  Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
•  Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
•  Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
•  Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
•  Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
•  Desirable: valid national driver’s license and proven ability to drive manual gear 4x4 over rough terrain; (if not applicable, delete)
•  Sound security awareness;
•  Have affinity with or interest in Public health, in emergency and development work, in evidence based programming, planning and reporting, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
