Project Coordinator - CBPSS (Street and Working Children)-Bekaa

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Description

Facilitate project’s implementation

Ensure that CB PSS is delivered in line with global minimum standards and national inter-agency SOPs/standards.

Ensure that CB PSS Facilitators are trained to adapt activities and methodologies and take the needed steps to include children with special needs.

Ensure the proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies) during CB PSS (attendance sheets, permission slips, parental consent, referrals etc.)

Support the identification and endure the right approach to tackle advocacy CP/PSS issues.

Generate overview of quality of CBPSS in WV Bekaa: status, methods used and results achieved;

Support the planning and coordinate the implementation of the Child Protection Project activities, ensuring deliverables and targets are met.

Monitor the implementation and progress of the project(s) according to approved stated objectives, plan of action, budget and record progress by working closely with the evaluation, learning and accountability unit and project manager.

Keep a close coordination with other CBPSS Coordinator and FPSS Coordinator in order to refer CHILDREN IN STREET SITUATION in their programs.

Conduct various field visits to the different areas of operations to monitor and supervise the progress of the work periodically and report to the line manager

Develop the project action plan and monitor its implementation with the support of the facilitators and animators.

Set weekly meetings with the animators to follow up on the implementation of PSS/Life Skills classes and progress of children and report to line manager accordingly.

Visit informal tented settlements and other communities, where beneficiaries reside, on regular basis and work closely with the protection committees by building their capacities to raise awareness and sensitize refugees (and host communities) on different protection concerns affecting their lives and strengthening their coping mechanisms and resilience

Conduct child protection and other relevant trainings for project staff and animators

Disseminate and share information on available services to staff and beneficiaries.

Ensure that the project staff complies with WVL’s child & adult safeguarding policy and code of conduct including PSEA core principles.

Conduct mobile field visits to refugee settlements and host population areas to meet with community key stakeholders and identify protection concerns

Identify, refer and follow up on the most vulnerable identified cases as well as individuals faced with protection concerns (incl. SGBV, Child protection, etc.) to relevant internal or external services

Liaise with localized advocacy groups, committees and other relevant local stakeholders (incl. municipalities, service providers, etc.) to improve the effectiveness of the protection monitoring activities in coordination with the Liaison Officer.

Ensure Sending monthly planning to the Project Manager, beginning of each month

Ensure Submission of a monthly report related to the progress of the work to the Project Manager

Attend on behalf of the project manager coordination meetings when required

Mobilize partners and Build relationships / capacities of related stakeholders

Identify and mobilize partners according to WVL’s partnership guidelines

Assist in the provision of appropriate capacity building for the local partners, animators and / or volunteers and parents working in the sector relatedprojects to ensure GBV/Child protection prevention and response are adequately addressed across sectors and humanitarian interventions.

Ensure Staff Management

Provides ongoing support, guidance and advice to program staff and animators in the field of CP/Psychosocial Support

Continuously manage the performance reviews of direct reporting staff with continuous feedback to ensure proper performance management;

Build and strengthen teamwork among the project staff, ensuring a conducive working atmosphere is created and opportunities provided to share lessons learned, experiences, observations and challenges to inform project management.

Handle Staff Capacity Building

Together with the Child Protection Manager, plan and provide opportunities for capacity building to project team in consultation with P&C Department to ensure coordinated technical and personal development.

Manage and build the capacity of outreach facilitators:

Supervise the work of the facilitators

Meet with the team weekly

Follow-up on the capacity building of CB PSS Facilitators’ facilitation skills, adult and child learning and development basic principles and developing new sessions throughout the year using the methodology provided by the CPHA Specialist and the sector, incorporating key CP and GBV messages as necessary.

Assist in recruiting field staff and temporary staff and provide the needed technical support to them in the preparation during the implementation of the project activities.

Update the capacity building plan of Facilitators on a monthly basis and share it with line manage and CP technical officer and CPHA Lead

Ensure children’s safety & protection

Identify safety issues and follow-up with the coordinator on the safety and security of the chosen locations

Handle reporting, filing & tracking

Follow up with animators on the delivery of progress report of children attending WV’s programmes.

Ensure that a monthly operational progress reports is developed with the animators

Ensure proper filing is done regarding every case, visit and discussion. Report must be written mentioning major points in addition to recommendations and follow-up plan.

Support the Portfolio Manager, EiE and Coordinators, in the development of different project reports.

Work closely with the Evidence Learning and accountability department and support in the analysis of M&E tools.

Maintain and keep daily records of the MOV means of verifications including attendance sheets, pre/post-tests, minutes of meetings, and evaluation documents are in place.

Provision of, and keeping track of the referrals, weekly reports, notes and plan.

Follow up on Referral Tracking sheet on a monthly basis.

Follow up on the important records and correspondences related to the PSS/Life Skills classes.

Handle logistics responsibilities as necessary

Prepare and update the list of items to be purchased (PRF) on a monthly basis and coordinate with the logistics officer.

Ensure that the needed material and logistics of the determined locations are taking place.

Coordinate and follow up with logistics officer on all the procurement requests. Make sure they are submitted on a timely basis to facilitate timely implementation of field activities, and adhering to both WVI and donor requirements in meeting the project objectives.

Perform Other duties as required

Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally.

Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.

Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.

Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Bachelor degree in a social sciences related field, (psychology, social work, specialized education or social animation) or an equivalent of relevant CP experience of 2-3 years;

Academic background in psychology counseling or other related field

Good command of English, both written and oral.

One year Experience in project implementation, monitoring and report writing

Candidates must have knowledge in working with children.

Knowledge of safety issues concerning infants and children.

Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.

Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

Ability to cope and work under pressure.

Computer literate mainly in Microsoft Office package.

Willing to travel within Lebanon with a valid driver’s license

Well-organized, self-motivated and ability to work in a team.

Ability to work in difficult and high risk situations Willing to travel within the region approximately 60% of time.

Familiar with core principles of Children Rights, Participation, Do No Harm, Community and Family Support as well as Children in Emergencies minimum standards.

85% field work and 15% Office work.

Position requires availability and willingness to work outside regular office hours occasionally.

Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function during a crisis situation, including during a World Vision response to a manmade or natural disaster
