Education project manager

Key Responsibilities,

  • Contribute to the development of Area and core competencies strategies initiate and participate in the development of relevant core competencies projects
  • Coordinate and manage Education project implementation (activities budget and project documentation) in line with proposals strategies and donor requirements
  • Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Operation director
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection explore and asses new and better ways to assist
  • Ensure Education activities are implemented/implementing to the plan and with high standard of quality throughout the western region.
  • Ensure high level of coordination with all internal and external stakeholders particularly with Department of Education as well as Department of field team.
  • Ensure quality of Education activities in north region
  • Initiate and/or actively participate in new project designing and developments in the North Region.
  • Line management of project staff Contribute to the development of North Area and Education strategies initiate and participate in the development of relevant CC projects.
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection explore and asses new and better ways to assist
  • Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
  • Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders

 

Qualifications and Competences
Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • University degree in Education/ Development related field/ Psycho-social/Health studies or Sociology required.

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in an organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Minimum 5 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Technical Education expertise
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in Education in Emergencies is an advantage
  • Strong management skills including personnel and financial management
  • Experience in capacity building and training of staff
  • Experience of proposal and report writing
  • Experience in logistics and administrative management
  • Experience of coordination and advocacy work
  • Political and cultural awareness and experience of working where insecurity is an issue
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Strong documentation, research and report writing skills.
  • Qualified and experienced teacher/ master trainer/counselor/social worker
  • Knowledge & relevant experience in child protection issues.
  • Experience in designing & facilitating training programs
  • Experience in participatory programs.
  • Has worked in emergency response or with marginalized communities
    Able to work under pressure
  • Experience in community sensitization/ mobilization.
  • Delivering working tasks in a structured and professional manner
  • Meeting deadlines
  • Adapting and coping to change
