Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of UNDP’s Regional Communication & Media Advisor for Arab States, based in Amman and in close coordination with and direct day-to-day management of UNDP’s Communication Officer in the Country Office in Lebanon, the UNV Communication Specialist for the Polar Walk for Climate Action (PoWCA) will perform the following functions:
- Positioning: Designing and implementing internal/external communication and outreach strategies to position the Polar Walk for Climate Action (PoWCA) as a credible initiative for accelerating climate action and SDG achievement;
- Awareness and Advocacy: Designing and implementing strategies to raise public awareness on the need for and to advocate for urgent scaled-up climate and SDG action by State and non-state actors, capitalizing on the Polar Walk for Climate Action (PoWCA);
- Partnership Building: Designing and implementing strategies to mobilize partnerships for scaled-up climate and SDG action by State and non-state actors, including partnerships to support the Polar Walk for Climate Action (PoWCA) in the initial stage;
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
