We are currently implementing 113 contracts in 68 countries, with more than 600 staff based in our Washington, D.C., office and more than 3,000 staff in our global project offices. Our main partner is the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), but we occasionally work with foreign donors as well.

 

USAID Lebanon Community Support Program

The Lebanon Community Support Program (CSP), a seven-year project funded by USAID, aims to support municipalities and underserved and vulnerable communities in providing better services and enhanced economic opportunities to improve lives and reduce tensions that contribute to conflict and violence in Lebanon. We’re a regional program based in Beirut, with activities in the North, South, and Beqaa Valley. CSP is currently implementing projects under four technical components: community support projects, technical assistance and capacity building, workforce development, and wastewater management.

 

1.   Summary of Position

 

The field coordinator represents CSP across the North, South, and Beqaa. She or he is expected to maintain relationships with key stakeholders to design and implement effective activities that support community stabilization and development, and enhance economic opportunities.

 

2. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Support regional teams in conducting contextual analysis and maintaining situational awareness in CSP’s areas of focus
  • Support CSP’s community profiling
  • Assist in making recommendations for program-led community stabilization activities
  • Assist in identifying, implementing, and monitoring all labor-intensive (i.e., cash-for-work) activities in CSP’s focus areas
  • Write and review activity reports and notes
  • Monitor program activities in the field — including community engagement and community support interventions — and report on progress and developments to the RPM and CSP’s senior program manager
  • Conduct site visits regularly to report on activity progress, and help partners remove barriers to activity implementation
  • Follow up on logistics, documentation, and other paperwork needed by the activity fund team, as requested by the RPM
  • Assist the RPM in market research to properly price bills of quantity and develop procurement requests
  • Provide updates on program activities for reports and respond to requests for information from CSP staff
  • Assist the RPM and other CSP staff in scheduling and facilitating meetings with past, current, and prospective partners
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or his/her designee

 

3. Minimum Qualifications

 

  • University degree required
  • At least two years of professional experience in economic or cash-for-work programming, or another relevant area of expertise
  • Experience in program design, implementation, oversight, or monitoring preferred
  • Strong writing and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Proved experience fostering effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including local government, community-based organizations, and the private sector
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
  • Fluency in spoken Arabic and English language required
  • Strong English writing skills strongly desired

 

4.  Place of Assignment

The field coordinator will be based in the CSP’s main office in Sin el Fil and will be expected to travel for the program throughout the North, South, and Beqaa regions.

 

5.  Reporting

 The field coordinator will report directly to the regional program manager.
