Zahle Field Office - Business Support Assistant (Database & IT) SC4

Job Purpose: To deliver standard software and hardware support services, as well as monitoring and maintaining a wide range of information sources, to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services for the common UN office in Zahle and the WFP’s cash-based transfers project. To deliver standard business support processes for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.  

Accountabilities:

 

IT Support:

- Carry-out system and equipment maintenance tasks, such as back-up system data and system
protection, to ensure they are running effectively and enable easy and efficient use.

- Undertake basic monitoring and troubleshooting of server systems to ensure a consistent
delivery of IT services to staff.

- Respond to basic queries about technology and systems to support the correct application of
technology.

- Receive and inspect all incoming assets and report discrepancies in IT materials inventory to
senior colleagues to ensure materials are effectively tracked.

- Perform basic beta testing and support the roll out of new versions of centrally supported
software to ensure software is operational for WFP staff.

 

Information Management and Database Support:

- Compile all available data in liaison with the Programme Assistant (Ecard Management Analyst) in the Field Office.
- Physically Preparing the PINs for every distribution cycle.
- Preparing distribution list and sharing them with the corresponding Cooperating Partner (CP).
- Checking the distribution of the Ecard during the distribution’s days.
- Physical management of the e-cards and checking the receipts after each distribution.
- Compiling distribution reports day by day in order to send Activation Requests.
- Sort the e-cards/pins after each distribution in addition to scanning on monthly basis all remaining cards/pins in the office.
- Follow up of beneficiaries’ complaints or issues expressed at hotlines or helpdesks.
- Preparing Livelihood service/payment list on a monthly basis.
- Prepare data spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and other documents as required for the distributions.
- Track & compile on beneficiary’s movements who relocate within the country, or left the country, and report it back to the DBA in the sub office.
- Perform other tasks as required.

 

Standard and Minimun Qualifications:

Education: Secondary School Education. A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software solutions and development, or any other related field is a plus.

Experience: At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in IT solutions, software development and Database Management.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic. Knowledge of French language is an added advantage.

  • Academic or professional experience in computer science.
  • Ability to undertake statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of WFP activities and procedures are a plus.
