Graphic Designer and/or Animator

Centre for Lebanese Studies is looking into working with a freelance graphic designer and/or animator. The graphic designer and/or animator will work on a project-by-project basis. He/she will be contacted by the Centre’s media and communication manager to assist in developing infographics, illustrations and videos for campaigns and projects by the Centre.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Study design brief and determine requirements
• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
• Develop illustrations, logos, infographics, animations, and other designs as per the project demand
• Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic or animated video produced
• Amend designs after feedback
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing
• Assist in promoting the publications

Requirements and Skills

• Minimum: Bachelor degree preferably in Design, Fine Arts or any related subject
• Excellent Arabic & English language skills
• Experience with graphic design and/or video animation.
• Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop)
• A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Editing and writing skills are preferable
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work with and meet short deadlines
