Lead on the youth committees component

Engage with local government to advocate for the inclusion of non-Lebanese youth in the youth committees.

Mobilize the community to maintain and establish youth municipal councils in partnership with three different municipalities and community groups as per the grant agreement.

Lead and coordinate the capacity building of the youth groups to deliver the outcomes effectively and keeping them fully engaged during the project implementation.

Support the youth in the needs assessment process to generate evidence in creative manner for the identified priorities.

Support the youth to engage with the local government and community stakeholders to disseminate the assessment findings and lead on designing, planning and implementing local development projects.

Ensure compliance with WV standards in procurement, financial, monitoring, visibility and reporting

Support the project manager in the monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports (financial and operational) on the proceedings of the project(s) for the assigned communities.

Youth groups are motivated and actively participating in the project

3 Youth group established and endorsed by their respective municipalities

Youth successfully undergoes the capacity building, needs assessment, planning and implementation phases.

Deliverables are on time and as per the standards.

Project results achieved on time and on budget, as agreed to in grant agreement.

High standards of quality assurance and reporting.

Regular submission of Progress reports that are approved by the project manager.

Local and national components

Coach the youth to utilize evidence to engage with the local government to plan and implement local advocacy projects aiming to promote social cohesion.

Mobilize the youth by connecting them with a range of local and national youth networks to strengthen their advocacy efforts while offering them the chance to share experiences, acquire new skills and raise their voices in youth forums.

Contribute to the youth resolve national advocacy component to ensure proper representation and support from the youth committee representatives.

Successful local and national youth advocacy interventions that are well measured to demonstrate impact.

Build strong relationship and development understanding in the community

Build positive and constructive relationships with community members and partners in order to understand their realities and facilitate development processes effectively.

Strengthen the understanding of community development and ownership and of social sustainability among the stakeholders in the area

Local community trusts World Vision and is willing to collaborate and share resources to work for the benefit of the most vulnerable children

Perform other duties as required

Attend trainings locally and internationally.

Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.

Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.

Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. University degree in a field related to community development or social work
2. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in community development work, mainly in youth empowerment and local government support projects.
3. Excellent command of written and oral English and Arabic
4. Good understanding of community development concepts and practices
5. Knowledge of project planning and implementation
6. Solid communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relation management skills and experience
7. Proven ability to work effectively and sensibly in cross-cultural settings and complex environments
8. Experience in working with you in development projects.
9. Basic understanding of design, monitoring, and evaluation processes
10. Development facilitation skills , including catalyzing, connecting, and building the capacity of community groups
11. Experience in building and maintaining relationships and networks with individuals, communities and development partners.
12. 70% field work and 30% office based
13. Flexibility to work in the afternoons and on weekends as per the youth availability
14. Driving license is needed
