Midwife

  • Provision of awareness sessions on family planning, sexual and reproductive health, personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene and contraceptives, maternal and prenatal and antenatal health/care, comprehension of neonatal care, female genital mutilation, sexually transmitted and reproductive tract infections, infertility and more topics as deemed necessary
  • Conducting personal counseling sessions as per the needs of the participants.
  • Coordinating closely with the caseworkers and the GBV Officer.
  • Provision of general recommendations to caregivers
  • Guiding new parents in the daily care for their newborns, helping parents to cope with miscarriage, termination, stillbirth and neonatal death
  • Informing mothers about the importance of breastfeeding, vaccination, and possible complications resulting from harmful traditional practices, as well as needed documents required (birth certificate, vaccination card…)
  • Ensuring respect for participants’ rights to privacy and confidentiality
  • Ensuring timely referral for cases in need of medical support, while avoiding provision of medical advice and/or provision of medication and/or prescriptions
  • Perform all activities in compliance with the relevant protocols and best practices
  • Adhere to URDA’s code of conduct
