Senior Protection Training Officer

Job Summary

The Protection Training Officer, with the guidance of Protection Team Leader and Protection Program Manager, will implement protection program activities in North Lebanon, Akkar and T5.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Program Development & MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning)
  • With the guidance of the Protection Project Manager and Protection Programme Manager, participate in program development phase in accordance with the protection strategy including but not limited to community-based protection, awareness-raising and outreach activities, life-skill trainings, PSS (Psycho-social Support) activities, youth, children and women-focused protection activities, community-based protection and social project.
  • Support the Protection Project Manager, in preparing and implementing M&E tools and data collection methods based on the programmes results based framework, donor requirements and reporting needs, which contributes to continual learning and program quality;
  1. Staff Capacity Building
  • Produce training materials to improve protection sessions on an on-going basis, as is required in the programme.
  • Conduct staff training and mentoring for new and existing staff & volunteers as requested.
  • Support in assessing, training and mentoring local partners, as relevant, in order to strengthen local capacity and sustainability.
  1. Program Implementation
  • Implement PSS activities and life skills trainings for children, youth (boys and girls), women and men.
  • Support in the design and implement leadership workshops for various stakeholders.
  • Implement community-based protection/social projects.
  • Undertake case management when requested.
  • Ensure that referral pathways are functionally based on the norms of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Ensure that CRM (Complaints & Response Mechanism) is rolled out and functional.
  1. Reporting, Admin and Information Gathering
  • Collect, store and analyze data of his/her activities.
  • Provide necessary data and information to Protection Team Leader for reporting.
  • Support the project manager in compiling monitoring and donor reports.
  • Support in the compilation of logistics and finance tracking documentation to ensure the financial management of the programme.
  1. Representation and Coordination
  • Replace the Protection Project Manager whenever necessary in Working Group and Task Force meetings.
  1. Work Ethic
  • Adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and Concern’s Code of Conduct.
  • Support the promotion of the standards outlined in the Programme Participant Protection Policy and Concern Code of Conduct to the team and to the beneficiaries, and be committed to providing a safe working environment.

  •  Any other task required by the program.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in the social sciences: Psychology, Social Work, etc.
  • Knowledge of protection principles in humanitarian aid.
  • Knowledge of concepts of SGBV and CP.
  • 2 years of experience in protection sector.
  • 2 years of experience of delivering PSS sessions.
  • 2 years of experience of delivering life skills training.
  • 2 years of experience in case management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including training and facilitation.
  • Good team player.
  • Excellent information technology skills.
  • Diplomacy, assertiveness and cultural sensitiveness.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic written and oral.
