LPC - Protection Field Officer

    1. POSITION GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Implement the daily field activities for the project under the supervision of the LPC Emergency Response Advisor and deliver objectives and tasks on-time and to a high quality

Work with the team in a highly efficient manner, prioritizing needs and targets, and reporting in a clear and concise manner on the progress of these

Provide technical support to the project teams for the assessment of WASH/Shelter needs and related response activities

Oversee and be responsible for the delivery of assistance at the individual and community level, coordinating with other field teams as needed, and ensuring progress towards common goals.

 
    1.  POSITION SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND TASKS.

 

Objective 1 : Response to all kind of Emergency and Acute Unmet Needs (50%)

 

Ensure the delivery of identified services and programming under the different response modalities (Emergency, Acute Unmet Needs, and Protection Response Plans) to the highest quality and standard

 

Conduct multi-sectoral needs assessment to identify needs and plan for a multi-sectoral integrated response;

 

Ensure Action Against Hunger WASH/Shelter response is aligned with technical humanitarian standards and coordinated with other departments and organizations

 

Apply a protection lens throughout the process in order to detect protection needs and refer to the appropriate actor (either within ACF or external referral)

 

Provide daily oversight of response modality service delivery directly at the field level, ensuring correct compliance with means of verification and reporting

 

Communicate and coordinate with communities, municipality focal points, and other relevant field level actors on the daily implementation of tasks.

 

Work with other Action Against Hunger team members to provide accurate and timely assistance to identified participants in the programme

Objective 2 : Delivery of hard components under the LPC Protection Response Plans (30 %)

 

Work with the CPA teams to support in the design of the LPC Protection Response Plan hard components related to WASH and Shelter (including site improvement)

 

Tailor and define the method of response for individuals, households, and communities specific and contextual needs.

 

Deliver WASH and Shelter activities under the LPC Protection Response Plans

 

Communicate with sector partners implementing in the area to ensure appropriate planning and coordination in the delivery of assistance

Objective 3 : Field Monitoring and Reporting (20 %)

 

Following the weekly and monthly planning for the programme team, report back accurately on field level activities to the LPC Emergency Response Advisor

 

Identify and report possible problems, conflicts, or contextual changes to the LPC Emergency Response Advisor, proposing solutions where possible and pertinent

 

Monitor the evolving context and flag any potential protection concerns to the PM and advocacy coordinator

 

Monitor and track all field activities and deliveries, ensuring compliance and control is provided.

 

Alongside the LPC Community Workers conduct data collection regarding the project and the potential beneficiaries.

 

Alongside the MEAL department, facilitate regular monitoring and evaluation activities for the field activities.

Objective 4 : Security

 

Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.

 

Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan

Objective 5 : Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger

 

Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.

 

Support any activity that helps reaching our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.
