ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Mapping selected areas of implementation to refer children to PHCCs for vaccination.
- Distribute ORS sachet or micro-nutrients.
- Give awareness sessions to caregivers on the importance of vaccination and its continuity until the age of 18.
- Awareness sessions and referrals of adolescent pregnant women, along with follow-up on their visits to the PHCs.
- Awareness sessions to caregivers on IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) and distribution of micronutrients to children under 5 years old.
- Awareness sessions on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding until the end of six months, and how to start introducing food to these children.
- Awareness sessions on reproductive health to both caregivers and adolescents.
- Awareness sessions to adolescents on substance abuse.
- Observe and detect any case that requires any kind of intervention at the field level.
- The work will be implemented at the field level through two approaches: Household visits and groups discussions. Due to COVID-19 outbreak all the awareness sessions might be given remotely via WhatsApp groups and phone-calls.
- Submit reports to supervisor on a daily and weekly basis.
- Coordinate with PHCCs to track all dropped-out people and refer them back to these PHCCs.
- Explain to all people thoroughly about all the services supported by PHCCs.
OTHERS
- Ensure all activities are gender sensitive and follow Al Midan Gender Equity Policy;
- Apply Do No Harm standards to ensure activities do not have detrimental effects on vulnerable communities;
- Participate in internal office coordination and planning meetings and workshops;
- Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
EDUCATION
BA/S or equivalent in social work, social studies, social sciences or any related field.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- At least two years of progressive experience and proven competence in working in Health and Prevention and/or community-based intervention;
- Experience working with local communities;
- Positive, respectful attitude, and collaborative approach to problem solving;
- Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently, as well as cooperatively with team members;
- Strong communication, coordination, and networking skills; experience developing and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders;
- Strong understanding of relevant cross-cultural issues and ability to work with refugee and host community populations;
- Ability and interest to work with a multi-ethnic team in a culturally appropriate manner;
- Significant knowledge and understanding of the current political, economic, cultural and historical context of Lebanon preferred;
- Ability and willingness to work daily on the field;
- Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Arabic (Arabic is strongly required).
- Good knowledge using computers and tablets and computer programs’ (MS Excel, MS Word).
