Main objective: Contribute to the protection and improvement of health and psychosocial wellbeing of the population affected by Beirut blast

Context of intervention:
Following the Beirut blast, MdM is developing an MHPSS response including outreach activities to provide onsite MHPSS interventions to person affected by the blast, internal referral to MdM CMHC or helpline and referral to stakeholders. In addition MdM has also identified a need for increasing awareness about COVID19 mitigation measures.
Main responsibilities:
The nurse will have the following main responsibilities:
- Provide outreach and awareness sessions on COVID19 mitigation measures
- Identify and refer persons at risk of contamination from COVID19
- Identify and refer persons with health needs
- Provide PFA and basic counselling
- Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team
- Assist in the coordination of health activities with stakeholders
Main responsibilities and activities of the Nurse can change according to the context, the organization of the work and to the composition of the team.
Main activities:
- Awareness raising on COVID19 mitigation measures
- Participate in the preparation of awareness sessions on COVID19 mitigation measures
- Conduct individual or group awareness sessions
- Contribute to the assessment on health needs
- Identify main health problems among the community, including health issues related to the blast
- Contribute to the referring system
- Assist in the service mapping and to the development of an effective referral system toward health actors
- Properly identify and refer persons in needs of medical services, including COVID19 specific services
- Participation in psychosocial support
- With the support of the MH team, provide PFA and basic counselling
- Participate in establishing and implementing innovative PSS activities.
- The nurse will work in coordination with the team and will be part of the technical meetings / case discussions
- Reporting, meetings and documentation
- Daily data collection and entry, respecting deadlines.
- Reporting on health activities
- Participate in and take the minutes of internal meetings and individual meetings.
- Participate in regular meetings with key actors
- Participate in network/coordination meetings concerning health, while maintaining accurate coordination with the program manager

Requested Competence/Skills/Profile
- Registered nurse;
- 1- 2 years’ experience in NGO setting;
- Experience in outreach activities and awareness sessions
- Experience in COVID19 service provision is a plus
- Experience in MHPSS Project is a plus
- Experience working in emergency context is valuable
- Excellence in organizing, adapting, planning and prioritizing tasks.
- Fluency in Arabic, English is a plus;
This position is a full-time position based mainly in Beirut.
