The child protection team leader has the responsibility in advocating for the rights of children in their context of displacement, child protection case management, child protection rights monitoring, and mobile child friendly space activities, including recreational, PSS and awareness raising activities. Also he/she has the responsibility to provide technical support, for the CP staff, reporting and documentation.
Main Responsibilities:
Management:
- Deliver technical support and guidance to team (PSS assistants, outreach assistant, case workers)
- Asses the daily quality of staff performance and implementation of programming.
- Provide technical support and inputs towards child protection programming – including case management, child protection monitoring, and child friendly space activities.
- Support and contribute to the organization and implementation of all protection and child protection activities.
- Facilitate referrals and coordination to child cases that are in need for other needed services.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings with all caseworkers providing technical advice on cases and supporting the wellbeing of case workers.
- Provide technical support to PSS Assistant and Volunteers on a daily basis to manage all the phases of the project in a qualitative manner.
- Support individual cases where required and provide regular monitoring of all aspects of the case management services.
- Review case-loads to ensure they are manageable, the documentation is complete and case plans are implemented.
- Implement, with the support of M&E team protection monitoring activities at the field level.
- Supervise follow-up monitoring visits to ensure that needs have been met sufficiently and beneficiary will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the assistance received.
- Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the protection activities on a monthly basis, in coordination with other stakeholders involved in protection.
- Organize and ensure monitoring of the activities in conducted in collaboration with the DRC M&E team.
- Ensure efficient and effective program implementation while following the budget and work plan.
- Participate in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/reports and proposals and budgets for donors.
- Lead the team in carrying out monitoring and evaluation exercises in coordination with the MEAL team.
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on child protection relevant issues.
- Represent DRC at child protection sub sector meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings.
- Ensure integration with other sectors, particularly protection and livelihoods
- Monitor and evaluate projects, in coordination with the MEAL team.
- Plan and coordinate proactively logistics and movements of staff from and to different operational areas.
- Ensure distribution plans are prepared and shared with logistics in a timely manner.
- Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as requested by the Manager.
