Duties and responsibilities
- Supervise CP caseworkers and PSS Assistant
- Supervise the caseworkers in their provision of age-appropriate quality psychosocial support in mobile and static safe spaces and child-friendly spaces including awareness/information sessions
- Support caseworkers through the provision of technical guidance. Ensure that staff implement and respect best-practice and international standards in CP response
- Ensure that child protection caseworkers provide CP case management in compliance with best-practice and international standards in CP response and in adherence to the principles and guidance
- Ensure all CP caseworkers are familiar, practice and adhere to the Child Protection Minimum Standards and the National CP Case Management SOPs
- Ensure that all high-risk cases in which judicial intervention is required and referred immediately to UPEL with the support and input of the caseworkers.
- Ensure the PSS team meets a minimum amount of referrals to case management, focused/ PSS, specialized or inter-sectoral services on a monthly basis
- Ensure the team trained and provided by coaching skills on PSS toolkits, approached and curricula for caregivers, children
Ensure that all spaces activities implemented accordingly to meet interagency standards for safe spaces whether mobile or static - Monitor of the efficient and accurate updating of the CP case management database. Compile the data and make note of trends observed
- Lead weekly team meetings to discuss challenges and successes faced in implementation
- Lead weekly supervisory meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care and appropriate case management
- Produce monthly reports in submitting internal and donor reports as per schedule
- Monitor the progress of project targets against indicators on a weekly basis
Advocate for the needs of vulnerable children both internally and through coordination mechanisms through evidence-based advocacy
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in humanitarian settings, specifically in Child Protection or GBV sectors
- Experience managing teams
- Ability to provide technical support, trainings and supervision of CP caseworkers
- Experience providing on the job coaching and mentoring and building capacity of staff
- Excellent knowledge of Child Protection and GBV minimum standards and PFA
- Excellent knowledge of psychosocial support basic principles and PSS key messages to vulnerable children and caregivers
- Excellent knowledge of basic facilitation skills
- Excellent knowledge of safe identification and referral principles
- Good knowledge of Child Protection case management
- Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility
- Comfortable in a multicultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
- Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
