Assignment
The Legal Advisor will report to the Program Coordinator and Programs Director. The responsibilities will include working on legal drafts for contracts with beneficiaries, landlords, municipalities and other governmental bodies, as well as participating in or/and prepare for meetings with officials and project stakeholders to facilitate ACTED programing, and notably shelter rehabilitation activities in Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
Functions
Competencies required for position:
- Law student, with experience in housing, land and property (HLP) law in Arabic and English, with experience in drafting HLP contracts preferred.
- A minimum knowledge of the humanitarian sector and human rights law.
- The ability to effectively network and advocate with different stakeholders, while remaining neutral and transparent.
- Excellent writing and speaking skills.

- Time Management – effectively self-manage multiple priorities within the program objectives.
- Communication (written, verbal and presentation) – exchange and provide information both within and outside of the Agency in a constructive and professional manner.
- Technical – proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

- Diplomacy – ability to address sensitive and/or challenging issues calmly and effectively.
