Field Officer - Beirut

The Livelihood Project officer will collaboratively work with the project manager and key functions including Grants Management, Municipalities, and relevant members of the community. It also includes working closely with relevant government entities at the national, regional, and local levels.

  • Identify target SMEs based on selection criteria through clear assessments on the field.
  • Support in conducting a needs assessment to identify needs and requirements for target MSEs on the following levels:
    • Rehabilitation
    • Equipment
    • Working capital / raw materials / late wages
    • Individual support – business management (needed Training).
  • Follow up daily on the progress of work in selected SMEs
  • Stay always available in project sites to monitor the implementation of activities, gather feedback from beneficiaries and submit a weekly detailed report about the activities and findings to the project manager
  • Responsible for following up with suppliers on delivery of project materials on time
  • Monitor Training provided to beneficiaries and provide progress reports to the project manager
  • Field visits to 35 SMEs to monitor the progress of work following the work plan provided by the project manager

Reporting and representation:

The livelihood field officer will be in charge of reporting the activities on a weekly basis on the different coordination tools developed by B&Z to the project manager.

Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, economics or project management or any related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in humanitarian projects
  • At least 2 years of experience working with communities on the small business grant, vocational skills, cash-based programming, community-based credit schemes 
  • Experience in emergency humanitarian context and complex and volatile contexts (preferable);
  • Experience in budget management
  • Strong critical analysis and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluency in English and Arabic – both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
