Short-term consultant: Networking Event Planner

Welthungerhilfe is working in Baalbek-Hermel on bringing together different actors of the agricultural market-chains. Welthungerhilfe is looking for a Network-Event-Planner, to facilitate the process of developing together with our team a calendar of meaningful networking events in Baalbek-Hermel, for to create new relationships between different market-actors.

Tasks:

1. Mapping of the main actors in the value chains in which we are intervening in Baalbek-Hermel.

2. Analyse the gaps in the network - who is not connected and why?

3. Develop with the local partner NGO a time-plan for relevant networking events for to address these gaps.

Expected Output:

1. a geographical map of Baalbek-Hermel showing the actors that are involved into the networking activities

2. an overview of the network-gaps

3. a calendar for 12 months with relevant networking events to be roganized and facilitated by the local partner NGO

WHH has identified 5 value chains and related value-chain actors. The consultant is asked:

• to conduct a workshop with the partner NGO and analyse and describe the relationship between actors and the power balance / deficiencies / abuse among them using participatory tools.
• to analyze gaps in relationships (information asymmetry, absence of direct relationship, etc.) and how to address them
• to develop together with the partner-NGO a list of events that can help addressing these gaps (outlining purpose, objective and actors to attend)
• Develop a timeplan for networking events for the period of 12 months.

You will have to work closely with our cooperation partners in Baalbek Hermel.

Previous studies and data will be at your disposal.

The task can be realized within one week.
