OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Social Worker is responsible for conducting social and vulnerability individual & household assessments, contacting caregivers, involved in the safe identification and referral process, collecting necessary information & providing feedbacks to other team members and following up on referred cases including PFA. The position will be based in Baalbeck.
Responsibilities
Responsibility 1: Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Social Worker collects information and orients the referral.
Tasks:
- Follow up on the referred cases by contacting the referring party, the caregivers and by collecting missing information.
- Listen carefully to beneficiaries’ concerns.
- Coordinate with the Identification & Referral Officer/Focal Point to identify the referral pathway for each beneficiary.
- Disseminate a clear message of HI project and policies (e.g. safeguarding and complaint mechanism).
- Proactively explore the services provided in the area of intervention, both from INGOs and local organizations or institutions, and feedback to the Project Officer to update the Service Mapping.
- Be involved in the follow up process with beneficiaries who received PFA.
- Work closely with other HI referral focal points.
- Ensure that safe Identification & Referral mechanism is implemented at both internal and external level.
Responsibility 2: Data management, reporting, and team collaboration.
Tasks:
- Ensure data collected is accurate, complete, and consistent.
- Collect all the missing information.
- Arrange all the open files in order to respect confidentiality.
- Participate in the different activities that are common to all team members.
- Work in harmonic coordination with all teams members.
- Timely inform your line manager of your weekly needs and produce the related documentation.
- Complete an evolution note after each intervention done on a beneficiary.
- Close follow-up of individual and familial cases to ensure a qualitative follow-up of all the beneficiaries,
- Ensure internal standards and guidelines are respected,
- Fill daily with precision the internal reporting tools (weekly report, donation certificate) and any other reports to be made upon line manager’s request.
Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- University degree in Social work or related degree.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the related field with preference with NGO. Social work experience with persons with disabilities on their education and/or rehabilitation issues would be an asset.
- English and Arabic are mandatory (oral and written), French would be an asset.
- Understanding of a comprehensive approach on disability and vulnerability.
- Proven coordination skills to work with a diverse network of actors, including the public authorities, in a diplomatic manner.
- Good report writing skills.
- Demonstrated effective communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills to manage a number of referral cases timely and accurately.
- Ability to work under high pressure with a great level of personal organization.
- Ability to relate to the target group (be approachable, shows empathy).
- Ability to propose workable solutions and identify their implications (positive and negative) adapted to beneficiaries’ needs.

Basic salary range for the position : The Social Woker is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.
Basic Salary range between USD 1320 – USD 1690
