Job Summary
The community mobilizer will be under the protection department in the emergency response team in Beirut, he/she will be reporting directly to the Protection Team Leader.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaise with local authorities, partners, community, and project team to guarantee the smooth operation of the activities
- Conduct frequent field visits to all project sites to ensure that community is involved in the project strategy.
- Inform the community on the date and venue of the awareness raising sessions about SGBV, Protection in general, and Safe identification and referrals in the area.
- Provide correct information to the beneficiaries on the scope and strategy of the project
- Produce timely reports for internal use on the activities highlighting best practices and lessons learnt.
- Attend protection team weekly meetings.
- Outreach and door to door visit to reach all the people who are in need for the services.
- Support the social worker and the case worker whenever it is needed.
- Supporting the Case workers with the attendance sheet during the sessions
- Reaching the people in need for PFA or PSS out through phone calls or visiting homes of the right holders.
- Refer all the in-need cases for the eligible services.
- Follow up on all the referred cases.
- Distribute dignity kits and other kits and materials in the intervention areas.
- Ensure that data for the distributed dignity kits is accurately collected on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Other related tasks: supporting the case workers and Social Workers in the events preparations, visits, data entry and during the PSS group sessions.
- Perform any other tasks as requested by the team leader
Job related Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum one year of experience in INGO or local NGO related to communities outreach activities.
- Understanding and good knowledge of protection principles, humanitarian principles, and emergency field.
- Good computer skills, able to use Microsoft and Excel word.
- Good communications skills, facilitation skills and coordination skills.
