Communication officer

Main Tasks:

  • Develop a communication strategy,
  • Ensure effective communications,
  • Develop, implement and monitor a communication and visibility plan to facilitate better understanding among partners and government about Dorcas as an organization and program progress,
  • Implement communication strategies on social media platforms, in order to maximize visibility and highlight Dorcas’ work in Lebanon and Syria,
  • Undertake filed visits to gather the information and results related to the programs,
  • Develop visibility materials such as leaflets, banners, posters, etc.
  • Develop monthly newsletter, and share stories with HQ and donors for special events with the help of the reporting officer
  • Keep Dorcas Lebanon/Syria up-to-date.
  • Work on advocacy points.
  • Support program staff in organizing and managing seminars, workshops, press conferences and field visits as required,
  • Collect and synthesize data from the field, and assist the reporting officer in drafting the necessary reports,
  • Collect and draft various success stories for the program from the field,
  • Support Field Office during donors, media, other high-level missions to the field, in collaboration with other project staff,
  • Organize events and workshops as seen necessary for the project,
  • Undertake field visits,
  • With input from the field staff and program officers, produce high quality program progress reports as per donors and Dorcas requirements,
  • Provide high quality editing and formatting for all program related documents,
  • Provide relevant expert services to the project management unit, program components and implementing partners on reporting and communications and act as a facilitator or trainer,
  • Provide through progress reporting continuous analysis of the achievements, facilitate project review, evaluation and audits,
  • Develop donors reporting date and requirements template,
  • Attend sector working groups in Lebanon or in Syria,
  • Coordination meeting,
  • Ability to visit Syria,
  • Perform other activities as necessary and assigned by the Country director,
