Responsibilities:
- Work in close guidance with the Wash Officer to ensure the monitoring of the desludging operation, this includes desludging for each site from its production source.
- Ensure all desludging drivers follow the agreed route to deliver water in good time, report immediately to the Wash Officer on any irregularity in this regard.
- Ensure all documentations is counter signed by the designated and responsible persons, this include refugee’s representatives.
- Ensuring that good quality of desludging is delivered.
- Update and keep record and data on the daily water production monitoring sheet and submitting it to Wash Officer on a weekly basis for reporting.
- Supervise masons, contractors and unskilled labourers during repairs and construction of WASH related facilities.
- Responsible for the safe keeping of all desludging tools and materials and at the same time tracking and keeping records on the same.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A minimum of one year practical experience in appropriate emergency relief programmes.
- High degree of sensitivity to the needs and priorities of disaster affected populations.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in response to changing needs.
- Familiarity with the SPHERE standards.
- Good report writing skills and computer skills especially word processing and spreadsheets.
- Build and maintain good relationships with local authorities, other organizations and actors linking to the relevant sector.
- Perform any other duties as they may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
