Project Assistant

 

General objective of the job

 

The Project assistant support the project manager in overseeing the implementation of the project.

 

Position in the organisation

 

The Project assistant is part of the Program Department reporting to the Project Manager.

S/he will assist the project manager.

S/he collaborates with the specialists within the Quality Department.

 

 

Result areas

 

  • Monitoring the project’s implementation

 

  • Visits partners to ensure activities are implemented in accordance with the proposed activities in emergency grants, including ensuring that procurement is carried according to project plans.
  • Follows up on the implementation of the whole project.
  • Ensures, promotes and facilitates that the principles of child protection and child participation are integrated into all project activities
  • Ensures that communication with project staff, children and communities are targeted by the project.
  • Ensures the use of the WCH tools and formats for PME in close collaboration with the Project  Manager.
  • Support the technical officers and field activity coordinators and cover their place when needed.

 

Result: the project is monitored in such a matter that all issues are discussed and all concerns are reported.

 

 

 

  • Coordinating and representing WCH

 

  • Represents WCH Lebanon in relevant working groups and other coordination platforms
  • Coordinates with the operation department to ensure all operational activities are performed and works closely with the War Child Holland Lebanon Team
  • Supports advocacy, communications and Child Protection Programming as needed
  • Coordinates trainings, workshops and conferences.
  • Liaises with professional counterparts of (inter)national authorities and organizations;
  • Liaises and coordinates with the government/ UN agencies and National-International NGOs
  • Timely identifies, informs and discusses any issues with his/her supervisor
  • Coordinate and Facilitate team communication

 

 

Result: Coordination with various groups are conducted in such a way that requests are answered Child Safety and Protection and concerns are reported.

 

 

 

  • Handling Management and Administration activities

 

  • Ensures that all project reports are submitted on time.
  • Oversee the implementation of the project.
  • Follow up with the staff
  • Follow up on all activities, data, numbers, CLM results, AI results, RAIS results and all other tools needed.
  • Assist the project manager in all required tasks
  • Manage progress reports, timetables, and financial budgets
  • Have a thorough understanding of project objectives and goals, ensuring all team members have the resources needed

 

 

 

Result: management and administration of activities are handled in such a way that budget expenditures are controlled and reports are delivered on time.

 

Necessary experience:

Preferably previous experience working with children/refuges/vulnerable populations

Fluency in Arabic

Attention to detail with strong follow up

Team oriented, with ability to work efficiently independently.

Proficient in Ms Office - word processing, spread sheets, etc.

Can multitask, work well under pressure, and work efficiently to meet strict deadlines

Have excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with others
