Freelance graphic designer

The Lebanese Center for Policy Studies is hiring a graphic designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media, including print production, web-based publications, and social media in English and Arabic.

Founded in 1989, the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies is an independently managed, non-partisan, non-profit, non-governmental think tank whose mission is to produce and advocate policies that improve governance in Lebanon and the Arab region. LCPS’ current research agenda focuses on: Improving governance and political representation, strengthening decentralization, advocating for a transparent oil and gas sector, supporting policies to create jobs, empowering youth, assessing the vulnerability of refugees, and promoting security sector reform.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate she/he is able to:

• Prepare layouts, designs, and formats for use in publication
• Prepare designs and artwork for online posting
• Prepare artwork such as graphs, maps, charts, illustrations, infographics and report covers
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
• Work with editors to produce final design
• Schedule projects and meet tight deadlines
• Handle copyright issues (allocate ISBN numbers to publications…)
• Maintain a database of all references used in creation of published materials
• Coordinate with vendors to prepare specifications and obtain estimates for final approval

Requirements:

• Proven graphic designing experience
• Familiarity with design software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop
• Strong working knowledge of printing and publishing
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• Degree in Design or Fine Arts
