Solidarites International is an International NGO working with vulnerable populations, mainly victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters. Specialized for nearly 40 years in the coverage of vital needs, S.I. takes charge of emergency and reconstruction programs.

ABOUT THE JOB
Responsibilities and main activities:
Goal / Purpose:
The Team Leader will coordinate a team of Community Hygiene Promotion (CHP) Officers, in order to implement hygiene promotion and support to WASH committees’ activities, ensuring that Solidarités International technical recommendations and procedures are followed.
List of main tasks:
Setting up the activities /control and supervision
- Plan the weekly activities for his/her team and have them approved by his/her Activity Manager:
- Plan human resources needs (daily workers, workers...)
- plan tool and material needs (request from stock)
- anticipate administrative issues (requests in advance)
- Anticipate logistics issues (transport, communication means...)
- Organize and carry out, with his/her team, tasks assigned by his/her Activity Manager
- Supervise and monitor each stage of activity. Ensure that standards and instructions given by his/her Activity Manager, as well as Solidarités International procedures, are followed
- Respect schedules and deadlines agreed upon with his/her Activity Manager
- Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the course of the activities and suggest operational solutions
Logistics and Administration
- When recruiting daily workers, follow procedures and directives outlined by his/her Activity manager and the administrative service
- Train his/her team members to use and maintain the available tools correctly
- Track usage with monitoring tools provided
- Enforce safety procedures
- Ensure that safety procedures are followed by members of his/her team
- Monitor the quality and quantity of material delivered to working sites
- Ensure the receipt and storage of material and equipment necessary for his/her work to be carried out on site
Reporting / communication
- Take part in weekly program meetings and clusters on request
- Keep his/her monitoring tools and files archived in the Solidarités International office, accessible to his/her Activity Manager
- Draw up and submit a weekly task report (which should include progress made by the team) to his/her Activity Manager
- Take part in the drafting of the monthly program pack
- Establish and maintain good relations with local participants and communities (populations) in the operational fields
- Listen to the populations and local participants in the field and report to his/her Activity Manager any non-technical or safety-related issues which could affect the activities or safety of Solidarités International teams
The Team Leader may be asked to drive SI cars and respecting the driving policies set by the logistic department.

YOUR PROFILE
Specific skills and experience:
- At least 2-year experience in a similar position, for INGO sector.
- Proven previous experience providing rapid emergency response WASH services as part of a rapid response task force.
- Proven previous experience in emergency water trucking, chlorination, Hygiene promotion and water quality analysis.
- Proven previous experience in hygiene promotion, including distribution of NFIs and targeting, and integration of protection, health, menstrual hygiene management in hygiene promotion.
- Proven previous experience in rapid needs assessments, baseline surveys, and security assessments.
- Proven previous experience in unstable environment (conflict / post conflict country).
- Experience in working in tense security context with strict security rules.
- Experience in remote project management would be an asset.
- Experience in team management.
- Working with the WASH Officer – Hygiene Promotion facilitate training CWCs, other Community structures and local authorities on improved hygiene/sanitation practices, management and sustainability of WASH infrastructure
Knowledge and technical skills
- Advanced knowledge about environmental and health related WASH, management, planning, Online tools and Microsoft office.
- Advanced knowledge on soft component linked with hygiene promotion, public health, malnutrition, protection, people with special needs.
- Advanced knowledge of project cycle management, humanitarian world, and emergency donors.
- Advanced knowledge of delivering WASH services in emergency context is mandatory.
- Good and proven writing and spoken English are required.
Transferable skills

- Capacity to work under pressure, solve problems, and decide quickly on contingency actions.

SI WILL OFFER YOU
A salaried post: 1,380 USD – Basic salary
Vacation: 1.5 Paid Leaves/month
