Part-time Pharmacy Assistant

General objectives and tasks:

Assist the pharmacist in managing medication and dispensing medicines to the beneficiaries while complying with the national and world health organization guidelines and principles:

  • Support the pharmacist in charge classifying medication groups and handling stock.
  • Provide support to the pharmacist in charge to facilitate relation and orders from aec centers.
  • Support with distributing the donated medication to people in need.
  • Support with medication procurement from various companies.
  • Review prescriptions issued by the doctor, or other authorized prescriber when dispensing medicines to the beneficiaries, while assuring accuracy and appropriateness of medication.
  • Answer questions and provide information to beneficiaries on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Communicate with and treat the center’s beneficiaries of various ages and genders.
  • Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.
  • Ensure proper stock management of medications in suitable conditions.
  • Keep track on the expiry dates of the medicines to guarantee proper inventory management.
  • Enter data; mentioning but not limited to, the patient’s name, and prescribed medication to maintain proper beneficiary-pharmacy files.
  • Preserve and protect the patient confidentiality in all situations and with all documentation.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and volunteers by adhering to infection‐control policies and protocols.
  • Provide qualitative, quantitative, informative and analytical reports to the direct supervisor on a monthly basis.
  • Demonstrate professionalism as a healthcare professional by being punctual and dependable for assigned shifts.
  • Perform relevant job functions aligning with arcenciel’s mission, vision, policies, values, and goals.
  • Perform any other relevant activities conducted by the direct supervisor.

Working Schedule: 3 days/week from 8:00 AM till 5:00 PM

Contract type: CDD :  From starting date till December 2021 ( Renewable )
