Basmeh and Zeitooneh is a registered Lebanese organization, committed to serving refugees and vulnerable communities in Lebanon, through four community centers across the country. The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.
Job Purpose: The self-care trainer will manage and provide self-care training to B&Z staff and Volunteers.
Major Activities
PROVISION OF SPECIALIZED PSYCHO-SOCIAL SUPPORT
- The self-care trainer will be providing 7 days for B&Z staff who have been directly affected by the explosion and whose well-being is of concern.
- This would help them be able to continue responding properly to running projects and to the emergency project in particular.
- 3 groups of 15 staff each will be given each 2 days of self-care. 1 day for reporting.
- The trainer will coordinate closely with the B&Z Protection officer and with the manuals of the tools for revisions, brainstorming, and for best practices approach.
DEPLOYMENT TO EMERGENCY RESPONSE
- Develop training material based on B&Z newly-developed “Self-care for B&Z staff and Volunteer,
- Develop training material based on B&Z newly-developed “Working with Children in Difficult Situations,
- Develop an online survey on the well-being status and self-care of the staff and the volunteer.
COORDINATION WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ACTORS
- Contribute to the protection mainstreaming in activities implemented by other teams at the base level through the provision of protection training;
- Attend Protection-related working groups (PWG, CPWG, and GBVWG) and provide updates of main trends to the line manager and Protection Technical Advisor.
REPORTING
- Delivery of a comprehensive reporting package that also includes an analysis of the findings of the online survey on the well-being status and self-care of B&Z staff and volunteers,
- The final reporting package should be delivered after the training directly.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Working within the principles of the Code of Conduct.
- Ensuring that beneficiaries have access to the appropriate service.
- Ensuring that the Foundation’s team interacts with beneficiaries within the principles of the B&Z, especially preserving dignity and avoiding psychological harm.
- Achieving the required number of beneficiaries at the end of the program while ensuring the quality of work.
- Ensure that a safe environment is provided for the staff in the training,
- Create positive communication with the team.
Competencies:
Functional:
- At least 5 years in humanitarian assistance and 2 years of international relief and emergency experience in the same position,
- Experience in conflict/post-conflict contexts, with experience in supporting emergency responses, access and security analysis, and management
- Good expertise in protection, with a focus on CP/SGBV
- Ability to set high standards for quality of work and quick adaptability and flexibility in a stressful environment
- Ability to manage human, technical, administrative, and financial resources.
- Facilitating and encouraging open communication in the team, communicating effectively.
- Previous achievement in reporting Writing.
